So yesterday, I was bored at home, so I decided I would take a walk..with my wallet..walked past MAC store and thought…maybe I’ll have a browse and picked up a few things:
MAC Mineralize Skin Finish (Soft and Gentle):
I was in the queue when saw this bad boy.. I touched it with my fingertips and automatically fell in love! Its not too shimmery so you wont look like a disco ball, it just gives the skin a nice healthy glow and its very light on the skin. I just apply this to the tops of the cheeks and whatever is left of the brush on the centre of my nose and sometimes on the cupids bow.

This swatch is lightly applied from my fingertips.
MAC 137 Long Blending Brush:
This was recommended to me by the makeup artist at the MAC store when I purchased the highlighter I mentioned above. Its great, applies the right amount of highlighter on the face, without leaving any patchy blotches. You can lightly dust on any powdered product to be honest e.g MAC Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder. This brush feels sooo light and gentle on the face.
MAC 252 Large Shader Brush:
This brush is usually used for eyeshadows, the name gives it a clue. But because of its packed, firm bristles, I thought this would be perfect to apply concealer. I know the MAC 195 Concealer Brush is applicable, however this is perfect.
MAC 224 Tapered Blending Brush:
I know this is a holy grail for many makeup artists or makeup lovers. Now I am terrible applying eyeshadows, but I thought maybe I will have this in my brush collection. This brush is amazing to blend eyeshadows, especially in the contour of the eye. I’m not sure if you can use this for applying eyeshadows as it is a big brush. But my eyelids are smaller than others, so I don’t know. I think I would be using this on any sharp lines that may be created when I have contoured. I do have a large blending brush, help blend all my makeup but I think this would perfectly diffuse the contour and the highlighter together, bringing the makeup to a flawless finish. I have read other reviews on how the brush is prickly and scratchy when used on the eyelids. I did not have a problem with it, maybe they have changed the material type of the bristles?
MAC 286 Duo Fibre Tapered Blending Brush:
Yeah, still dont know why I bought this. I can’t bloody apply eyeshadow lol! You can use this for both cream and powder eyeshadows and blend any harsh lines. I do love all MAC’s Duo Fibre range, they just make the makeup look flawless.
MAC 217 Blending Brush:
Another brush for blending eyeshadows…LOL! This is also great for blending powdery or creamy products. I will be using this to blend my under eyeliner/shadow to create the smoky effect. The bristles are short and soft, so it is perfect for the delicate part of the eye. This is a very popular brush sold by MAC and great to blend harsh lines.
MAC Strobe Cream:
For nearly all of my photoshoots, this product is applied to my face. I love it, so I just had to buy it. This cream helps to boost radiance and brighten dull, tired looking skin. It is a light moisturiser, however I do still apply my moisturiser before this. I wouldn’t be using this on a daily basis, just for events and parties.
Won’t be long till I visit MAC again, I am learning a lot about makeup especially from the makeup artists I work with.
