I just love the way compact foundation is packaged, with the mirror and the little puff that comes with it…and its just that..compact, they take up a small space of your makeup bag and there are no spills..no fuss.
I am a regular customer at Bobbi Brown and I am always excited with their new products, I get excited when they email me of new things to look out for. I am always delighted with their range of foundation shades and how well they match my skin.
I bought this compact foundation in the shade: Warm Natural. This foundation is creamy in texture, light to medium coverage and feels very light on the skin (when applied with a brush). The instructions on the package say to use the sponge applicator provided.
I prep my skin with moisturiser and then a primer, for this I use the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer, this is to help make my makeup last longer and prevent the prdouct sitting in my pores and my smile lines.
First I used a beauty blender to apply this product and the finish was awful, I absolutely hated it, it was a no from me, it sat on my skin very heavy and just looked terrible. So I gave it another try, this time using the Bobbi Brown Foundation Brush to apply the product and the Real Techniques Buffer Brush to buff the product into my skin and I was really happy with the results.
I still have to apply powder to my T-Zone to set the foundation and again, approximately 5-6 hours after wearing it which is usual for me anyway as my face gets shiny throughout the day.
I think when applying this product onto the face, apply sparingly. The product can feel very heavy on the skin and look very cakey, you can build up the product but only very slightly, so if you’re looking for heavy coverage, maybe this is not the right product. As it is travel friendly, it is great for touch ups, I use the Bobbi Brown Touch Up Brush for this. However, I use the Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick, for touch ups as it does the same job. This foundation is very quick and easy to apply, a great go-to foundation and the product does look natural and dewy on the skin, with radiant results.
Do you have a favourite compact foundation? Or any on your wish list?

Hey there! Would it be better to used a water-based or silicone-based primer with this foundation?
